While sometimes an addition is needed to meet clients goals, the first step of every project is to evaluate your existing spaces and see what can be accomplished through careful space planning. In this home, the load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed and new french doors were added to create this spacious kitchen with bar and pantry wall. The previously unused sunroom is now a sun filled great room with round dining table, new seating area, and access to both the new kitchen and the renovated living room. By maximizing the existing floor plan we were able to achieve a comprehensive first floor renovation which met the needs of the entire family and the project budget.
This interior renovation began with the purchase of a new home by terrific repeat clients. The home's size and location were the perfect fit for this young family but the original early 1990's interiors were in need of an update from master suite to basement and everything in between. With a tight timeframe and comprehensive scope, the construction on the home began the week of the closing. Kathy and team designed and managed the full home renovation which now reflects the style and lifestyle of the homeowners.
When a repeat client conceived of a multi-generational beach retreat with guest house, new pool and indoor outdoor living, they knew they needed more than architectural design. Kathy was brought in to manage the entire project from the tear down of the original home to the installation of furniture and finishes touches. Kathy worked with the family to identify the project goals, master plan the site design and building design, and assemble the talented team which consisted of engineers, project architect, landscape architects, builder, home automation consultant, pool contractor, and interior designer. From start to finish, Kathy provided for her remote clients the peace of mind that their project was being coordinated with care and attention to detail.
